The leading lady Nina Dobrev portrays Elena Gilbert, the main protagonist, as well as Katherine Pierce, Paul Wesley portrays Stefan Salvatore,a good-hearted and affectionate vampire, and the complete opposite of his older brother Damon Salvatore portrayed by Ian Somerhalder. These three are the main roles in The Vampire Diaries DVD series and some other roles in season 3 may be different with previous two seasons.
